Delhi Records 104 Active Covid Cases, 99 Logged in the Past Week

Delhi has reported a fresh spike in Covid-19 cases, with the number of active cases reaching 104, according to data from the central government’s COVID-19 dashboard. Out of these, 99 cases were detected in just the past seven days, signaling a rise in infections in the national capital.

Despite the uptick, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has assured the public that there is no cause for concern. She emphasized that hospitals across the capital are well-equipped to handle any increase in patient numbers. Most cases have reportedly been identified through private laboratories and involve symptoms similar to seasonal flu.

Nationwide, the active Covid case tally has reached 1,009. Kerala remains the most affected state with 430 active infections, followed by Maharashtra with 209. Delhi ranks third, while Gujarat (83), Karnataka (47), Uttar Pradesh (15), and West Bengal (12) follow.

The resurgence has also led to at least seven fatalities: four in Maharashtra, two in Kerala, and one in Karnataka.

Several regions including Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir have reported no active cases so far.

India had previously seen a sharp decline in Covid numbers following a successful nationwide vaccination drive, which helped ease lockdown measures and containment protocols.
