Google Likely to Unveil Pixel 10 Series at August Made by Google Event
Google’s highly anticipated Pixel 10 series is expected to make its debut this August, with sources pointing to the Made by Google event as the launch platform. The new flagship lineup is said to feature significant performance and thermal improvements thanks to its Tensor G5 chip, now reportedly manufactured by TSMC instead of Samsung.
A well-known industry tipster, Arsene Lupin, posted on X suggesting the launch may occur on August 13. However, a conflicting report from Android Headlines (dated June 2) indicates a slightly later unveiling—August 20, with pre-orders starting August 28.
If the latter date proves accurate, it would mark a return to an earlier launch cycle for Google, which had announced the Pixel 8 series in October 2023.
Tensor G5: A Major Leap Forward
One of the biggest changes in the Pixel 10 series is under the hood. Google is reportedly ditching Samsung’s foundry in favor of TSMC for the production of its next-generation Tensor G5 chipset. This shift is expected to bring better thermal efficiency, improved performance, and enhanced battery life—key areas where previous Pixel models faced criticism.
While full hardware specs remain under wraps, early benchmarks and developer leaks suggest that the Pixel 10 series could close the performance gap between Pixel devices and other flagship phones from Apple and Samsung.
Pricing and Lineup
Despite the internal upgrades, most models in the Pixel 10 lineup are expected to retain the same pricing as their predecessors. This includes the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and possibly a Pixel 10 Pro XL variant, though details on the latter remain speculative.
A Strategic Launch Window
Unlike Apple’s consistent September launches, Google has historically been flexible with its Pixel release dates. In 2023, the Pixel 8 series was introduced in October. But with the Pixel 10, the company appears to be shifting back to a mid-year unveiling, likely aiming to get ahead of the iPhone 17 launch and capture consumer attention in the pre-festive window.
With the event just weeks away, official invites and teasers from Google are expected soon.
