Avadi, Tamil Nadu – In a shocking incident, a woman councillor affiliated with the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) was brutally murdered in public by her husband in Avadi district on Thursday. The accused, Stephen Raj, later surrendered to the police.

VCK Leader Killed in Broad Daylight

The victim, identified as Gomathi, was allegedly confronted by her husband near Jayaram Nagar in the Thiruninravur locality, where she was seen speaking with another man. Following a heated argument over a suspected extramarital affair, Stephen Raj reportedly pulled out a knife and repeatedly attacked Gomathi. She died on the spot.

Husband Surrenders to Police

The accused fled briefly before surrendering himself at the local police station. He has been taken into custody, and investigations are currently underway.
